Mumbai: Hollywood star Tom Holland expressed his admiration for Indian audiences during the Mumbai premiere of The Odyssey, saying that no one brings the same level of excitement and energy to movie theatres as fans in India.
On Friday (July 10), Holland joined director Christopher Nolan, actor Matt Damon, and producer Emma Thomasfor the premiere of their upcoming film in Mumbai. After the screening, the cast and crew surprised moviegoers by making an unannounced appearance inside the auditorium, drawing an overwhelming response from the audience.

As the credits rolled, the audience was informed of a special surprise before Holland, Nolan, Damon, and Thomas entered the theatre. The crowd erupted in cheers, with Holland receiving the loudest applause from fans.

“I would like to say from the bottom of my heart, thank you for welcoming us with such open arms and happiness, excitement, grace and love,” Holland said.
He went on to praise the passion Indian audiences bring to cinemas.

Holland’s appreciation for Indian audiences stems from the response his previous Marvel films received in the country.
The actor recalled the extraordinary reaction to Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, when videos of fans cheering, whistling, and celebrating inside Indian theatres went viral on social media. The enthusiastic reception even caught the attention of directors Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, who publicly praised the passion of Indian moviegoers.
When Will The Odyssey Release?
The Odyssey is scheduled to hit theatres on July 17. A week later, Holland will return as the iconic web-slinger in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which is set for a theatrical release on July 31, 2026.
