Sourav Joshi Haldwani Car Chase: YouTuber Alleges Abuse, Men Flee Leaving Car Behind

Haldwani: Popular YouTuber Sourav Joshi has alleged that he and his family were verbally abused by a group of men during a late night drive in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, after which the men allegedly fled, leaving their car and mobile phones behind. Police are examining CCTV footage as they work to identify those involved.

The incident reportedly took place on the night of September 30, when Joshi was travelling with his wife Avantika and two brothers. According to Joshi’s account, the group was in a black Nissan Micra when its occupants approached his vehicle and asked him to lower the window.

Joshi said he initially believed the men wanted to greet him. Instead, he alleged, they began verbally abusing him and his family before driving away.

The YouTuber further claimed that the men appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. He then followed their vehicle as it sped through the area. The pursuit eventually led to the men abandoning the car and fleeing on foot.

Reports said the vehicle was found with its engine running and windows open, while mobile phones and other belongings were allegedly left inside. The car was reportedly located in the Haldwani area, with local reports placing part of the incident around the Tikonia and Nainital Road stretches.

Joshi subsequently contacted police and sought their intervention. Local reporting said his wife also contacted authorities during the episode, while police personnel reached the area.

Haldwani police are examining CCTV footage from the route in an effort to establish the sequence of events and identify the people involved. Police officials said the search for those involved was underway and that further action would follow the investigation.

The incident was also discussed by Joshi in a vlog posted on his YouTube channel, where he described the encounter and the subsequent chase. Joshi has a large online following, with reports stating that he has more than four crore YouTube subscribers and over one crore followers on Instagram.

Police had not, as of the latest reports available on October 2, publicly identified the alleged perpetrators or announced arrests. The investigation remains underway, and the allegations made by Joshi have yet to be established through the police investigation.
