Shah Rukh Khan has announced the release date of his highly anticipated film King, ending months of anticipation among fans. On Saturday, January 24, the actor shared a new teaser and confirmed that the film will hit theatres on Christmas this year.
A month after the makers officially announced the project, the release date and a fresh teaser from the film were unveiled, adding to the growing excitement around what is being described as one of the most awaited films of the year.

On January 24 (Saturday), Shah Rukh Khan surprised fans by revealing that King will release in cinemas on December 24, coinciding with Christmas. The film marks Khan’s return to the big screen after a two-year hiatus. Sharing the teaser, the actor wrote, “#KING is Ready to ROAR on 24.12.2026 in Cinemas.”
Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is positioned as a large-scale action spectacle and will feature Shah Rukh Khan in a never-before-seen avatar. Along with the release announcement, Khan also dropped a teaser that shows him sporting bruises and bloodstains.

The short clip opens with a back shot of the actor standing amid snow-capped mountains, accompanied by the line, “It’s time to roar.” The teaser then cuts to Khan’s bloodied appearance as he enters a glass hall after shattering the ceiling, marked by intense expressions and a striking on-screen presence.
Details about the character Khan will portray have not been revealed yet. However, based on the teaser and early indications, the film is expected to be an action-packed thriller. Plot specifics remain under wraps.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, King is being made on a reported budget of Rs 350 crore. In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, the film features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles.
The project also marks the theatrical debut of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter, Suhana Khan. She made her acting debut in 2023 with Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, which was released on Netflix.
