Shabana Azmi-Javed Akhtar’s Dance to ‘Pretty Little Baby’ Steals the Show at 75th birthday Bash, Video Goes Viral

Veteran actor Shabana Azmi marked her 75th birthday with charm and celebration, and the evening’s most memorable moment was her delightful dance with husband and noted lyricist Javed Akhtar. The couple swayed gracefully to Connie Francis’ timeless track ‘Pretty Little Baby’, leaving the audience spellbound.

Shabana stunned in a maroon flowy outfit with red borders and a chic brooch, while Javed Akhtar complemented her look in a red kurta and black Nehru jacket. Laughing and twirling together, the duo’s heartwarming performance had the crowd clapping in rhythm and soaking in the joyous vibe.

The video quickly went viral after filmmaker Farah Khan shared it on Instagram, captioning, “Now that’s how u turn 75!! Happy birthday @azmishabana18 may you and @javedjaduofficial always be this young (sic).”

The star-studded celebration saw several big names cheering them on Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Akhtar beamed with happiness, Madhuri Dixit joined the applause, Karan Johar recorded the moment on his phone, while Rekha looked visibly mesmerized. Celebrities including Urmila Matondkar, Maheep Kapoor, Sonu Nigam, Neena Gupta, and others added to the joyous atmosphere.

Earlier in the day, Urmila Matondkar shared a nostalgic birthday post for Shabana, recalling their first meeting during the 1983 photoshoot of her debut film Masoom. She described their decades-long bond as one filled with “love, respect, admiration, learning, laughter, and madness.”

On the work front, Shabana was recently seen in the crime drama Dabba Cartel, which follows five women from Thane who inadvertently get entangled in a drug racket while running a tiffin business. The series, created by Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda, was released on February 28 and also stars Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, and Shalini Pandey. Her upcoming project is Rajkumar Santoshi’s Lahore 1947, co-starring Sunny Deol, Preity Zinta, and Ali Fazal.
