Ravie Dubey Kept His ‘Ramayana’ Role A Secret From Wife Sargun Mehta

Mumbai: Actor Ravie Dubey, who is set to play Lakshman in the upcoming film Ramayana, kept his involvement in the project hidden from his wife, actor Sargun Mehta, according to a report by ABP Live. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, has generated significant anticipation ahead of its teaser release.
The teaser is scheduled to be unveiled on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, with special previews already held in Los Angeles and New York. The project marks Ravie Dubey’s Bollywood debut, making his role in the film particularly significant.
Sargun Mehta had earlier revealed during a conversation on Ranveer Allahbadia’s podcast that she had no knowledge of Ravie’s casting in Ramayana. She explained that the couple typically avoids discussing work details with each other until official announcements are made. Even when news about the film began circulating online, Ravie did not mention his involvement.
According to ABP Live, Sargun only learned about his role through others and later through media reports. She refrained from directly asking him about it, noting that they respect each other’s professional boundaries. She recalled being congratulated by someone, which first alerted her to the news, but she initially dismissed it.
During the film’s shooting as well, Ravie maintained secrecy. As per the report, when asked about his whereabouts, he would simply say he was going to work, without disclosing that he was on a film set. Sargun admitted she remained unaware of the details and even tried to gather information indirectly.
The film features a star-studded cast including Sai Pallavi, Yash, and Sunny Deol. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana is expected to release its first part during Diwali, with the second instalment planned for 2027, ABP Live reported.
