Because the story could not be adequately conveyed in a single part, director Nitesh Tiwari has announced that his next epic Ramayana will be released as a two-part film. In an interview with IGN at the San Diego Comic-Con, where he was accompanied by Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, and producer Namit Malhotra for the movie’s marketing campaign, the director explained his thinking.
Ramayana is the first epic to be released as a duology on a wide screen.
“Ramayana is a linear story, and where we leave off in Part One is something you can call a cliffhanger,” Tiwari explained the choice. Something that will entice viewers to watch Part Two as soon as they exit the theater. That’s essentially it.
“There should be two parts to this story. We simply concluded that this would probably be the ideal time to leave it on in Part One and save the remainder for Part Two because it cannot be told in a single section.
The first part of Ramayana will be released this Diwali, while the second part will be released on Diwali in 2027.
Speaking about what makes the movie different from earlier adaptations, Tiwari stated that the story’s emotional core is still the major focus while it is given a modern visual approach.
Fundamentally, it’s all about connections and the feelings that accompany them. We have attempted to capture precisely that. Additionally, we have executed it in a state-of-the-art manner. That’s why it’s so thrilling. It will be incredibly refreshing to hear and see the same story that many people may already be familiar with.
In terms of implementation, this is a whole new approach,” Nitesh continued.
On Friday, the Ramayana trailer was scheduled to be released. However, after the production obtained an international distribution relationship with Sony Pictures Entertainment, producer Namit Malhotra stated that the launch had been postponed.
Yash plays Ravana, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, and Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama in the Ramayana. Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Rakul Preet Singh, Lara Dutta, Arun Govil, Vivek Oberoi, Kunal Kapoor, and Anupam Kher are among the other cast members.
