Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Complete Cast Breakdown – Ranbir, Sai Pallavi, Yash & Others

Director Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious two-part adaptation of the ancient Indian epic Ramayana has generated massive excitement with its star-studded cast finally revealed. Backed by producer Namit Malhotra and featuring groundbreaking VFX by DNEG, the film shot partly in IMAX boasts a reported budget exceeding ₹4,000 crore. With music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, Ramayana: Part 1 is slated for a grand Diwali 2026 release, followed by Part 2 in 2027.
Ranbir Kapoor steps into the iconic role of Lord Rama, bringing his signature intensity and emotional depth to the prince of Ayodhya. Tiwari has praised Kapoor’s sincerity and physicality, noting he was the only choice capable of shouldering the expectations of millions. Opposite him, Sai Pallavi portrays Sita, embodying grace, resilience, and quiet strength. The actress’s expressive eyes and natural poise make her a fitting choice for the revered goddess.
In a powerful antagonist turn, South Indian superstar Yash plays Ravana, the formidable king of Lanka. His larger-than-life screen presence and recent success with KGF position him perfectly to deliver a nuanced, commanding performance as the epic’s complex villain. Early glimpses suggest his portrayal is already stealing the spotlight.
Sunny Deol takes on the role of Lord Hanuman, the devoted devotee known for his immense strength and loyalty. Television star Ravi Dubey has been cast as Lakshmana, Rama’s loyal brother, adding emotional weight to the sibling bond. Veteran actor Arun Govil—who famously played Rama in the 1980s TV series makes a poetic return as King Dasharatha.
