Rajpal Yadav’s Lalbaugcha Raja Visit: Humility Or PR? Social Media Reacts To Viral Queue Video

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Rajpal Yadav was recently spotted seeking darshan at Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal during the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. Viral videos showed the comedian standing patiently in the general public queue, chanting “Ganpati Bappa Morya” alongside ordinary devotees instead of using any VIP entry.

In the footage, Yadav appears relaxed and smiling, waving at fans who recognised him and requested selfies. Women security personnel were seen acknowledging him as he moved closer for Charan Sparsh darshan. Many netizens quickly praised the actor for rejecting celebrity privilege. Comments like “This is a real star,” “In God’s house everyone is equal,” and “Money can’t buy devotion” flooded social media.

However, the narrative is not entirely one-sided. A fact-check report noted that while videos clearly show Yadav waiting in the public line, one social media user later claimed the actor eventually received special VIP access. Some visuals also depict him being escorted for photographs after darshan, leaving room for speculation about informal arrangements.

The visit comes at a challenging time for Yadav, who is currently facing legal proceedings related to multiple cheque bounce cases involving around ₹9 crore. Despite the ongoing issues, his decision to blend with the crowd has drawn attention and largely positive reactions for its display of humility.

Lalbaugcha Raja attracts massive crowds every year, and debates over VIP versus common devotee treatment have long existed. Yadav’s appearance has once again spotlighted the issue, with many applauding his choice while a few remain sceptical about the complete story behind the viral clips.
