Nora Fatehi’s ‘Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke’ Faces Backlash; Armaan Malik Criticises Lyrics

A recently released dance track featuring Nora Fatehi has sparked widespread debate online, with several viewers criticising the song’s lyrics and presentation. The track, titled Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke, is part of the upcoming Kannada-language film KD: The Devil and also features Sanjay Dutt. NDTV reported that the song quickly drew mixed reactions after its release.

While some viewers praised Nora Fatehi’s energetic dance performance, a significant number of social media users criticised the track for what they described as vulgar lyrics and suggestive choreography. The music video shows the actress performing in a dance-bar style setting with multiple background dancers, which further fueled the online discussion about the song’s content.

Singer Armaan Malik also reacted to the controversy. Taking to social media platform X, he expressed disappointment over the writing of the song. In his post, Malik said the video appeared on his timeline and he replayed it to confirm what he had heard, adding that it was “sad to see commercial songwriting hit a new low.” His remarks quickly gained attention and amplified the debate surrounding the song.

Several social media users echoed similar concerns, questioning how such lyrics were approved for mainstream release and raising concerns about their potential influence on younger audiences. Some posts criticised the track as crossing the boundaries of decency, while others asked whether regulatory authorities should review such content before it reaches the public.

The song has been sung by Mangli, with lyrics written by Raqeeb Alam and music composed by Arjun Janya. The film KD: The Devil, directed by Prem, stars Dhruva Sarja, Sanjay Dutt, Shilpa Shetty, and Reeshma Nanaiah. Set in the 1970s, the action-crime drama follows the story of a petty criminal who eventually becomes involved in the underworld. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release on April 30, 2026.
