My Pictures Were On A Porn Site At 15′: Janhvi Kapoor Recalls Disturbing School Incident

Actress Janhvi Kapoor has opened up about a deeply unsettling experience from her teenage years discovering a manipulated image of herself on an adult website when she was just 15 years old, an incident she says continues to affect her even today.
Speaking to content creator Raj Shamani, Kapoor recalled how she stumbled upon the image during a school IT class, where some students would visit such sites. “I don’t know if it was a deepfake, but it was something like that. I saw a picture of me on a porn site,” she said. “We had IT class in school, and boys used to go on those sites for fun. My pictures were on there. And this was in school. So that was a weird experience.”
The Lasting Impact of AI-Generated Content
The actor went on to describe how non-consensual AI-generated visuals of her continue to circulate online including on what she described as official news pages. “There are visuals of me out there, even shared by official news pages, which are completely AI. I have never worn those clothes or been photographed like that,” she said.
While she initially tried to come to terms with it as an occupational hazard of public life, Kapoor made clear she has not made her peace with it. “At some point, I was like this is the cost you have to pay. There is no morality in a lot of these things with social media. I am not at peace with it,” she admitted.
Professional Consequences
Beyond the personal distress, Kapoor highlighted how such fabricated imagery can directly undermine her professional credibility. “It creates a certain kind of impression. If tomorrow I tell a director I’m not comfortable wearing something, someone can pull up those pictures and say, ‘But you’ve done this before,'” she explained.

Despite feeling strongly about the issue, she acknowledged a reluctance to speak out more forcefully. “I feel like I don’t have that much of a voice to complain. So I don’t think my voice has that credibility yet. There will be backlash, and it might take away from the cause,” she said.
