Mumbai: The much awaited Ramayana took an unexpected turn on Saturday as YouTube superstar MrBeast joined Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Ravi Dubey at a special event hosted at the DNEG/Prime Focus office in Mumbai. The appearance brings one of India’s most ambitious upcoming films face to face with one of the world’s biggest digital creators, adding a distinctly global touch to the movie’s promotional campaign.
The gathering featured Ramayana director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra along with the lead cast. Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Rama, attended in a blue kurta and denim, while Sai Pallavi, cast as Sita, appeared in an orange peach silk saree. Ravi Dubey, who plays Lakshmana, was also present.
The event comes just days after MrBeast, whose real name is Jimmy Donaldson, was spotted visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra with his wife Thea Booysen. His India visit had already triggered speculation about a possible interaction with the Ramayana team, before Saturday’s event brought the much discussed collaboration into focus.
For the Ramayana team, the association fits into a wider international push surrounding the film. The project is being mounted as a two part cinematic adaptation directed by Tiwari and produced by Malhotra. Ranbir leads the cast as Rama, Sai Pallavi plays Sita, Yash portrays Ravana, Sunny Deol is Lord Hanuman and Ravi Dubey plays Lakshmana.
The film has already generated considerable attention with its trailer and promotional material. A recent motion poster focused on the relationship between Rama and Sita, while the larger campaign has highlighted the film’s scale, visual effects and international ambitions. DNEG and Prime Focus are involved in the visual effects work, while A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer are associated with the music.
Ramayana: Part 1 is scheduled for an international theatrical release on November 6, 2026, followed by its India release on November 8, coinciding with Diwali. The second instalment is planned for 2027.
With MrBeast now appearing alongside the cast and creators, Ramayana’s promotional journey is clearly reaching beyond conventional Bollywood platforms bringing the Indian epic into an increasingly global entertainment conversation.
