Chennai : A bomb threat was issued on Sunday night to the residence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and actors Ajith Kumar, Aravind Swamy and Khushbu. Ajith Kumar’s residence in Injambakkam, Chennai, received an alleged bomb threat from an unknown person. No explosives were found during the inspection, and authorities did not disclose details about the sender of the threat.
Police officials responded swiftly, deploying a bomb squad to the actor’s house along East Coast Road (ECR). The search lasted a few hours before investigators confirmed it was a hoax. The case involving Ajith Kumar came on the heels of a similar bomb threat made against actor Arun Vijay. The DGP office had recently received an email from an unidentified individual claiming a bomb was planted at Arun Vijay’s residence in Ekkattuthangal.
Composer Ilaiyaraaja’s T Nagar studio was also targeted by a hoax bomb alert, adding to a growing list of high-profile individuals affected by such incidents. The case involving Ajith Kumar came shortly after a similar bomb threat was made against actor Arun Vijay. The DGP office had recently received an email from an unidentified individual claiming a bomb had been planted at Arun Vijay’s residence in Ekkattuthangal. Police and bomb disposal experts searched the property but found no explosive materials.
In October, composer Ilaiyaraaja’s T Nagar studio was also targeted by a hoax bomb alert, adding to a growing list of high-profile individuals affected by such incidents. The incident involving Ajith Kumar happened soon after actor Arun Vijay also received a similar email claiming a bomb had been planted at his house in Ekkattuthangal. That search, too, proved to be a false alarm. CM Stalin received a bomb threat as well, but investigations confirmed it was baseless. On October 3, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters and actor Trisha’s residence received similar hoax alerts.
