Karan Johar Meets Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in Tokyo, Confesses He Has Watched The Devil Wears Prada ‘No Less Than 47 Times’

Filmmaker Karan Johar had what he called a ground-shifting moment when he came face to face with Hollywood legends Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway in Tokyo, Japan, during the international promotional tour of The Devil Wears Prada 2.

Johar, never one to hide his admiration, shared pictures from the rare meetup on social media, describing himself as “singularly obsessed and inspired by the unmatchable brilliance of Meryl Streep.” He went further, calling Streep his guru in the art of acting and character portrayal.

The confession that followed was equal parts candid and endearing. “I have quoted it at dinner tables, in edit suites and in board meetings no kidding,” Johar wrote, referring to the 2006 cult classic. He added that despite his best efforts to stay composed, his knees were “RATTLING” the moment he stood beside the two icons. He also revealed he has watched the original film no less than 47 times.
