India’s Got Latent 2: Mukesh Chhabra, Netflix Face Fresh Complaint Over Alleged Obscene Remark

Mumbai: Samay Raina’s India’s Got Latent 2 has run into fresh controversy after a complaint was reportedly filed against casting director Mukesh Chhabra and Netflix India over an allegedly inappropriate remark made during a recent episode.
The complaint, filed by Anurag Shrivastav, seeks an inquiry into the alleged statement as well as the process through which the episode was cleared for streaming. However, the allegation has not been independently established, and the complaint itself says the authenticity of the remark, the speaker’s identity, the context and the exact timestamp must be verified using the original, unedited recording.
According to reports, Shrivastav said he watched the episode on Netflix from a hotel room in Mumbai on the evening of September 22, 2026. The episode featured Chhabra alongside actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, actor and YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, comedian Kaustubh Agarwal and host Samay Raina. The episode premiered on September 18 on Netflix and YouTube.
The complaint alleges that Chhabra was heard making a sexually suggestive remark. Shrivastav described the alleged language as inappropriate and objectionable and called for the matter to be investigated.
Importantly, the complaint itself does not present the allegation as conclusively established. It specifically calls for verification of the recording, including whether the voice belonged to Chhabra and what was being said in its complete context.
The complaint has also questioned Netflix India’s content approval process. Shrivastav has sought an inquiry into how the alleged material was cleared for streaming and has requested scrutiny of the role of Netflix India content chief Monika Shergill. The complaint raises concerns about viewer dignity and child safety if the alleged remark is verified.
The latest controversy adds to the scrutiny surrounding India’s Got Latent. In February 2025, an episode featuring podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia triggered widespread backlash over remarks involving parents and sex. The controversy resulted in legal proceedings, and Season 1 was subsequently removed from YouTube.
Season 2 returned in 2026 through a collaboration between Raina and Netflix, with episodes being released on Netflix and YouTube.
As of September 24, 2026, the latest complaint remains an allegation awaiting verification. There has been no established finding that Mukesh Chhabra made the disputed remark in the manner alleged.
