‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’: PM Modi’s On-Screen Appearance Sends Audiences Into Frenzy — Whistles, Claps, Hoots Fill Theatres, VIDEOS Viral

Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar: The Revenge only just opened in cinemas, but director Aditya Dhar’s request to audiences please, no spoilers has already been largely ignored. Fans have been sharing clips online, and two moments in particular have taken over social media feeds. Both involve Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The film weaves in actual archival footage of the PM at two specific moments in Indian history: his 2014 swearing-in ceremony and his televised 2016 address announcing demonetisation. Neither clip is dramatised the sequences are presented within the film in a broadcast format, blending documentary footage with the fictional narrative.
The crowd reactions have been something else. Videos shot inside theatres show audiences erupting whistles, loud claps, chanting each time Modi appears on screen. “As soon as Modi ji makes his entry in Dhurandhar, the entire theatre erupts whistles, claps, hooting everywhere. That moment says it all his popularity isn’t just real, it’s unstoppable,” one user wrote on X. Another simply replied: “Fully agree! Huge claps yesterday.”
The film had its share of pre-release friction. Reports indicated the Central Board of Film Certification recommended several cuts before granting it an ‘A’ certificate.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge picks up where the 2025 blockbuster Dhurandhar left off. That original film, also led by Ranveer Singh, reportedly crossed Rs 1,300 crore at the worldwide box office, making it one of Bollywood’s biggest commercial successes. The sequel features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi, and Sara Arjun.
