Dhurandhar 2 Advance Bookings Surge Past ₹120 Crore Globally

In a remarkable display of audience frenzy, advance ticket sales for the much-awaited spy thriller Dhurandhar: The Revenge have stormed past ₹120 crore worldwide, with just days remaining before its theatrical debut. Directed by Aditya Dhar and headlined by Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy, the film is generating unprecedented pre-sales momentum that continues to break records daily.

Advance bookings for Dhurandhar 2 gained significant traction after previews launched alongside the trailer on March 6, while full opening-weekend sales opened this past weekend. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19, with paid preview shows set for the evening of March 18. Domestically, previews have already raked in ₹32.44 crore — eclipsing the previous record of ₹25 crore set by Pawan Kalyan’s OG last year. Trade sources indicate that the preview gross could climb beyond ₹40 crore by Wednesday.

For regular shows beginning Thursday, pre-sales have been equally robust. The opening day alone has grossed ₹14.66 crore in advance bookings, with nearly 10 lakh tickets sold across the first two days. According to industry insiders, overall domestic advance sales for the entire opening weekend now exceed ₹60 crore. Over a million tickets have been booked for the first day and previews in India alone.

The enthusiasm extends strongly overseas. In North America, Dhurandhar 2 has become the first Indian film to surpass the $5-million mark in pre-sales, outpacing major releases such as Pathaan, RRR, and Baahubali 2, each of which had crossed $4 million in the territory. Worldwide advance bookings have now crossed $6 million, pushing the global pre-sales total to a staggering ₹120 crore. With more than two days still left for bookings, the figure is widely expected to breach ₹150 crore and could even approach ₹200 crore. When combined with spot bookings on release day, the film appears poised to create a box-office storm not witnessed since the Baahubali era.

The cast features Ranveer Singh alongside R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi. Akshaye Khanna is anticipated to make a cameo appearance reprising his role as antagonist Rehman Dakait from the first instalment. The original Dhurandhar has already amassed ₹1,300 crore worldwide and continues its theatrical run more than three months after its December release. Trade analysts are optimistic that the sequel could surpass ₹2,000 crore globally, potentially dislodging Dangal from its long-held position as the highest-grossing Indian film.
