While promoting his upcoming film, actor Jayaram recalled in a public event how Sakshi Dhoni, MS Dhoni’s wife, greeted him and touched his feet in a playful fan moment. At the event, he was shocked to know Sakshi Dhoni’s identity and thought she had mistaken him for someone else.
In an interaction organised by Cinema Vikatan, a fan’s question led to a surprising revelation. A fan asked which fan meet had made him the happiest, and in reply, Jayaram said, “Just one week ago, I was at an IPL cricket match in Chennai. Someone pointed out Dhoni’s wife to me, but I didn’t know her. Suddenly, she walks over to me, touches my feet, and says she’s a big fan. I was shocked and wondered if she had mistaken me for someone else.”

When Jayaram, to clear his doubt, asked Sakshi the same, Sakshi assured him that this moment was for the actor himself. “Their daughter Ziva’s nanny was Malayali. When she was young, she would sing my song Ambalappuzha Unnikannanodu to help her fall asleep,” Jayaram stated, before going on to sing the same song live. Following the line, “That’s the song the child would listen to,” Jayaram also said that the overwhelmed Sakshi knew that the actor featured in this song. In the year 2017, Ziva’s video of singing the same song gathered an immense response and went viral at that time.

Jayaram is a renowned actor with a career spanning more than three decades in the industry across multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, as well as Hindi. This event aimed to promote his upcoming film Parimala and Co, which will be a bilingual comedy in two languages, Tamil and Malayalam, and will release on 5th June in theatres in India.
