Gold Prices Today, April 19: Check Rates In Your City

Mumbai: On April 19, gold prices in the Indian retail market showed little change, with only minor fluctuations observed in 24-carat and 22-carat varieties. The day holds special significance as it marks Akshaya Tritiya, a festival widely regarded as highly auspicious for buying gold and silver. 

According to early morning rates, 24-karat gold was quoted at ₹154,900 per 10 grams, while 22-karat gold stood at ₹141,992 per 10 grams in the retail segment. Meanwhile, 999 fine silver was priced at ₹259,210 per kilogram, as per data from the Indian Bullion Association (IBA). 

Prices in major cities reflected slight variations. In Mumbai, 24-karat gold was available at ₹155,780 per 10 grams and 22-karat at ₹142,800 per 10 grams, with 999 silver at ₹275,000 per kg. Delhi saw 24-karat gold at ₹155,930 and 22-karat at ₹142,920 per 10 grams, alongside silver at ₹275,000 per kg. 

Similar rates were recorded in Bengaluru, where 24-karat gold was priced at ₹155,780 and 22-karat at ₹142,800 per 10 grams, with silver at ₹275,000 per kg. Other cities like Ahmedabad and Kolkata posted comparable figures, while Chennai and Hyderabad showed marginally higher rates for both gold and silver. 

Buyers are advised to factor in additional costs such as making charges, taxes, and GST, which jewellers typically add to the final bill. 

The Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (MCX) provides a reference point for broader market trends. Akshaya Tritiya is traditionally seen as an ideal occasion for investments in gold and silver, believed to usher in prosperity and wealth that continues to grow. According to Drik Panchang, the auspicious Tritiya Tithi on April 19 begins at 10:49 am and ends the following day at 7:27 am, with city-specific shubh muhurat timings varying slightly for prayers and purchases. 

Many people also use this day to initiate new ventures, investments, or property deals, reinforcing its cultural importance in India.
