COVID-19 Cases Spike Across Asia; Bigg Boss 18 Fame And Actress Shilpa Shirodkar Tests Positive

COVID-19 is once again drawing global attention as fresh waves of infections hit parts of Asia. In Hong Kong, the number of weekly cases has skyrocketed, rising more than 30-fold in 10 weeks. Singapore has also witnessed a sharp uptick, with infections increasing nearly 30 percent within a single week. Similar surges are being reported from China and Thailand.

Among the growing list of new cases in India is veteran actress Shilpa Shirodkar, who recently re-entered the spotlight through her appearance on Bigg Boss 18. On Monday, Shirodkar took to Instagram to share the news with her followers. She posted a message that read, “Hello People! I’ve been tested positive for COVID. Stay safe and wear your masks! – Shilpa Shirodkar.”

Her update prompted an outpouring of concern and support from fans and fellow celebrities alike. Actress Sonakshi Sinha commented, “Oh god!!! Take care shilpaaa… speedy recovery.”

Shilpa, the sister of Namrata Shirodkar, was a prominent face in Hindi cinema during the 1990s. She stepped away from acting after her role in M.F. Husain’s Gaja Gamini (2001) and made a return over a decade later through various television projects. Her most recent public appearance was as a contestant on the latest season of Bigg Boss, hosted by Salman Khan.

Meanwhile, Australian cricketer Travis Head has also tested positive for COVID-19, adding to the growing list of public figures affected by the resurgence.
