The global K-pop sensation BTS is poised for a much-anticipated reunion in 2025, as the remaining members approach the completion of their mandatory military service in South Korea. Fans, known as ARMY, are abuzz with excitement following a cryptic social media post by BTS leader RM, signaling the countdown to the group’s return.
On May 11, RM shared an Instagram story featuring a cartoon bear holding a “D-30” sign, widely interpreted by fans as a nod to his and V’s discharge date of June 10, 2025. The post ignited a wave of enthusiasm across social media, with hashtags like “D-30” and “D-40” trending as fans eagerly await the group’s full reunion. Jimin and Jungkook are expected to complete their service on June 11, 2025, while Suga, who is serving as a social service agent due to a prior shoulder injury, will be discharged on June 21, 2025.
BTS, comprising RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, has been on hiatus since December 2022 to allow members to fulfill South Korea’s mandatory national service requirements. Jin, the eldest, was the first to enlist in December 2022 and was discharged on June 12, 2024. J-Hope followed, starting his service in April 2023 and completing it in October 2024.
