Mumbai Police Enforce Strict Safety Measures for Maharashtra Day 2025

In preparation for Maharashtra Day celebrations on May 1, the Mumbai Police have implemented stringent preventive measures to ensure public safety and maintain order. According to a statement from the police a comprehensive ban on all flying activities, including drones, remote-controlled microlight aircraft, paragliders, hot air balloons, and kites, will be enforced across the city from April 30 to May 1, 2025.

The prohibition, authorized under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), aims to mitigate potential risks to public safety and prevent disruptions during the state’s formation day festivities. Mumbai Police have explicitly warned that violations of this order will result in legal action under Section 351(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

This temporary restriction reflects the authorities’ commitment to safeguarding the city during a significant public event, with heightened vigilance to ensure a peaceful commemoration of Maharashtra Day.
