Condemning the Pahalgam Terror Attack, the Surat City District Congress Committee organized a funeral procession (antimyatra) for the terrorist, in order to pay a tribute to the Indian citizens who lost their lives in the brutal attack. The procession saw a large number of people joining voluntarily. The procession started from Sardar Complex and proceeded till Sitanagar Chowk.
People expressed their anger in various ways including kicking the terrorist’s effigy and hitting it with footwear. When the antimyatra reached Sitanagar Chowk, Congress workers including Surat City District Congress Committee Working President Dineshbhai Savaliya, and former Education Committee members Sureshbhai Suhagiya, Chetanbhai Radadiya, Sanjaybhai Davra, Rajubhai Bhalala, and others publicly protested by hanging the effigy of the terrorist from the bridge.
The protesters stated that the entire Congress party is with the government in the difficult situation faced by the country. Just as Indira Gandhi liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan, the entire country is waiting for the government’s decision today. The protesters expressed anger and dissent over the terror attack.
