Actress Ameesha Patel’s Mumbai House Robbed, Jewellery Worth ₹5 Lakh Stolen

Ameesha Patel’s parents’ home in the Churchgate neighborhood of Mumbai is said to have been the target of a jewelry heist; jewels valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh have been reported missing.

A domestic worker has been detained by Mumbai Police in relation to the case, according to news agency IANS.

Seema Ghate, a 40-year-old Palghar resident, has been named as the culprit.

For around a year and a half, Ghate was employed as a domestic assistant at Asha Patel, Ameesha’s mother.

The Marine Drive police started looking into the suspected theft after Asha Patel filed a complaint. After that, Ghate was located in Virar and taken into custody by the authorities.

A bracelet was allegedly taken from the home in January 2026, according to the police.

Ghate was allegedly asked to confess to the crime and return the jewelry for five or six months by Asha Patel, who suspected Ghate of being involved in the heist. Asha Patel reportedly complained to the Marine Drive police when the bangle was allegedly not returned.

In accordance with Section 306 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the police first filed a case against an anonymous woman. After that, a criminal detection team investigated the case and found Virar. Ghate was taken into custody and brought before a judge.

She will remain under police detention until September 15. The lost jewelry is being sought after by the police, who are also looking into the alleged theft. The bangle hasn’t been found yet.

As part of the probe, authorities are also looking into Ghate’s prior criminal history.
