Mumbai: The long running war of words between Taapsee Pannu and Kangana Ranaut has flared up again, and this time Taapsee appears to have answered Kangana with just two words “Hence, proved.”
The latest exchange began after Taapsee spoke about her equation with Kangana and the differences between them. Taapsee said the two actresses have never actually met, either before or after their public differences began. She attributed their contrasting viewpoints to their different upbringings and the way they perceive things.
Kangana did not appear to take the comment lightly. In Instagram Stories that were later deleted, she hit back at Taapsee, calling her a “sasti copy” and accusing her of ridiculing Kangana’s upbringing and parents. Kangana also took a swipe at Taapsee’s upcoming Netflix film Gandhari, referring to it as a “B grade film.”
Taapsee, meanwhile, did not directly mention Kangana in her response. On Sunday, she shared the short message “Hence, proved” on Instagram Stories. While she did not explain the post, its timing led to it being widely viewed as a response to Kangana’s remarks.
The latest clash is not a new chapter so much as a continuation of a feud that has been making headlines for years.
The controversy dates back to 2019, when Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel called Taapsee a “sasti copy” of Kangana on social media. The remark came after Taapsee had praised the trailer of Kangana’s Judgementall Hai Kya without specifically mentioning Kangana.
The two actresses later found themselves on opposite sides of Bollywood’s heated nepotism debate. In 2020, Kangana also criticised Taapsee and Swara Bhasker, referring to them as “B grade” actresses and “needy outsiders.”
Despite the years of public tension, the two have never had a direct personal meeting, according to Taapsee’s latest comments.
Interestingly, earlier this year, Taapsee had indicated that she was not opposed to the possibility of making peace with Kangana. That makes the latest exchange particularly notable, although neither actress has suggested that the current episode has gone beyond social media remarks.
For now, Kangana’s deleted posts and Taapsee’s cryptic “Hence, proved” have once again put their old Bollywood rivalry firmly in the spotlight.
