Stand-Up Comic Who Shared Stage with Rahul Gandhi Cancels Uttar Pradesh Shows

Stand-up comedian Pulkit Mani has cancelled his scheduled performances in Noida, Lucknow and Kanpur. Mani, known on Instagram as ‘hunnywhoisfunny’, had appeared on stage with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi at the party’s ‘Chhatron Ki Goonj’ event in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

During the event, the pair performed jokes and mimicry targeting senior political leaders, drawing laughter from the audience.

In Instagram stories, Mani announced the cancellation of his Noida show due to “unforeseen circumstances” and apologised for the inconvenience. He later stated that his Lucknow and Kanpur shows had also been cancelled “due to repeated threats from goon activists.”

The cancellations followed criticism from BJP leaders over the Indore event. Party spokespersons described the performance as inappropriate and criticised the tone of the remarks made on stage. One senior leader accused the Congress of lacking basic human empathy in the content of the interaction.

Mani’s decision to call off the Uttar Pradesh shows comes amid the political reaction to his joint appearance with the Congress leader.
