Female Teacher Allegedly Assaulted 4 Year Old Girl In Rajkot, POCSO Case Registered Against Teacher

Rajkot: A female school teacher in Rajkot has been accused of physically assaulting a four-year-old girl, allegedly causing injury to her private parts with an object like a ball pen. The incident reportedly took place on April 11 at Karnavati International School. The child’s parents have filed a complaint at the Pradhyuman Nagar Police Station under sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Atrocities Act.
According to the complaint, the child, residing in Rail Nagar area, initially complained of pain in her private area after returning from her school on April 11. Her mother assumed it could be due to heat or a rash. However, when the pain intensified the following day, the child was then taken to a private hospital. Doctors there allegedly informed the parents that the injury appeared to be caused by a foreign object, which led to an infection.
The child reportedly identified her teacher, Mittalben, after being shown photographs of staff and classmates. She was initially treated at a private hospital for two days and has now been admitted to a women’s hospital, where she is said to be recovering.

School authorities have denied the allegations. The school’s Managing Director, Ashok Pambhar, stated that the accused teacher is innocent and that CCTV footage from April 11 has been reviewed and shared with the parents. “There is no evidence of any such incident in the footage,” the authorities said. The school’s principal, Mr. Dobariya, also defended the teacher, saying that she has been working with the school for four years with a clean record.
Mittalben has denied the allegations, stating, “I have not done anything wrong. The police should investigate if the child visited any other location apart from school that day.” As of now, the police have not found conclusive evidence to support the claims. The investigation is ongoing.
