
Ahmedabad: The Gujarat government has given good news to government employees. In the cabinet meeting held today, the dearness allowance of the state government employees has been increased. The dearness allowance of the employees getting the benefits of the Seventh Pay Commission has been increased by 2 percent.
The dearness allowance of the employees of the state government who are getting the benefits of the Sixth Pay Commission has been increased by 6 percent. Earlier, the state government approved a 3 percent increase in December 2024 to 53 percent dearness allowance from July 1, 2024.
A total of 4.78 lakh employees and 4.81 lakh pensioners of the State Service, Panchayat Service and others will get the benefit of the Sixth and Seventh Pay Commission. The difference in dearness allowance for 3 months i.e. from 1 January 2025 to 31 March 2025 will be paid in one installment along with the salary for April-2025.
In a meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, an important decision was taken in the broader interest of the state government employees and it was decided to provide the benefit of increase in dearness allowance on a central basis to the state government employees receiving the benefits of the Sixth and Seventh Pay Commission from January 1, 2025.
