During parking at the Srinagar airport, an IndiGo plane collided with an upright metal pole, causing it to go sideways, according to photos taken at the scene. “IndiGo flight 6E 225, operating from Navi Mumbai to Srinagar on 4 September came in contact with a parking stand pole during parking, after safely landing at Srinagar International Airport,” the airline said in a statement.
The incident occurred at nine in the morning while the aircraft was positioned at Bay No. 6 at the airport.
There have been no reported injuries, and all passengers and personnel are safe. Manual aircraft stairs were used to safely deboard passengers and crew.
“Every passenger and member of the crew has safely deboarded from the airplane. The appropriate authorities were promptly notified in accordance with established procedures, and we are jointly looking into the situation. After obtaining the relevant clearances, the aircraft will resume operations after being grounded for necessary repair,” according to the airline.
In the meanwhile, airport operations continue as usual, with scheduled flight arrivals and departures.
The airline emphasized that its primary concern is the security and safety of its passengers and employees.
