‘King’ Becomes SRK’s Costliest Film, Budget Rises To ₹450 Crores

The excitement is growing every day as the superstar SRK prepares to return to the big screen after three long years with King, which is directed by Siddharth Anand. Filming for the movie began in May 2025 and is anticipated to be completed by August 2026. around the course of a year and a half, King’s crew has spent more than 150 days filming the movie all around the world with some of the largest stunt teams in the world.

Modern visual effects are also needed for the movie’s action design, and Red Chillies Entertainment, Shah Rukh Khan’s own firm, is providing them. King, which is scheduled for release in six months, would beat Shah Rukh Khan’s previous biggest picture, Jawan, in terms of cost. “Shah Rukh Khan has always believed in providing the public with an unadulterated product. A source said, “King began as an action thriller, but the ambition of SRK and Sid has made it a tentpole action thriller with some of the biggest action sequences that the audience will get to witness on the spectacle.”

According to the source, King’s budget is approximately Rs. 450 crore, excluding publicity and print costs as well as Shah Rukh Khan’s acting fees. “Every penny spent is intended to provide the audience with an uncompromising cinematic experience. Since it’s a brand-new Shah Rukh Khan experience, you will witness every penny the producers spent on the screen,” the source continues.

For those who don’t know, Jawan’s budget was about Rs. 400 crore, which was more than Pathaan’s budget of Rs. 350 crore. The superstar is poised to further elevate the bar for action in Indian cinema with King.
