Netanyahu Warns Israel Ready To Strike Iran Again If Threat Persists

Jerusalem : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel is ready to launch fresh military strikes against Iran if required, indicating that the use of force remains an option even as the United States and Iran continue diplomatic efforts to ease months of regional tensions.

In an interview with Israel’s Channel 14, Netanyahu said Israel would act independently whenever necessary to stop Iran from developing nuclear weapons. Defending Israel’s previous military operations against Tehran, he suggested that further action could be taken if Israel believes its security is under threat.

The comments, reported by Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency, highlight Israel’s longstanding opposition to any agreement that, in its view, allows Iran to retain the capability to develop nuclear weapons. Netanyahu’s warning comes at a sensitive stage in diplomacy, with Washington and Tehran engaged in negotiations aimed at expanding a preliminary ceasefire understanding into a broader political agreement.

The Qatar-mediated talks, backed by regional partners and the international community, are focused on ending hostilities, easing sanctions, addressing concerns over Iran’s nuclear programme and strengthening regional security.

The negotiations follow months of heightened military tensions that escalated after coordinated US and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets earlier this year prompted retaliatory attacks from Tehran, fuelling fears of a wider conflict across the Middle East. The United States and Iran have agreed in principle to pursue a phased de-escalation process.

The draft agreement reportedly includes commitments to suspend military operations, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, negotiate phased sanctions relief and establish mechanisms to address international concerns over Iran’s nuclear activities.
