Union Cabinet Praises PM Narendra Modi After He Becomes Longest-Serving Elected Prime Minister

New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he became the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India to hold office continuously. The milestone came as PM Modi completed 4,399 consecutive days in office.

Cabinet ministers also greeted the Prime Minister with a standing ovation during the meeting.

With this achievement, PM Modi moved past the record earlier held by former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, who had served 4,398 consecutive days after India’s first general elections.

PM Modi Highlights Importance of Public Service

Responding to the occasion, PM Modi described public service as the true measure of good governance. Sharing a Sanskrit shloka on X, he spoke about humility, commitment and dedication as essential qualities for earning the trust of citizens.

He stated that only those who work consistently with sincerity, discipline and devotion are able to gain public confidence.

Historic Political Milestone

The achievement marks another significant moment in PM Modi’s political journey, as he continues his uninterrupted tenure since first taking office in 2014. The development has drawn attention across political circles and was widely acknowledged by leaders and supporters in India and abroad.

According to ANI, the Union Cabinet resolution recognised PM Modi’s continued leadership and contribution during his years in office.
