Lucknow: Director Hardik Gajjar’s film Krishnavataram Part 1: The Heart (Hridayam) has been granted tax-free status in Uttar Pradesh by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The film, featuring actors Siddharth Gupta, Sushmitha Bhat, Sanskruti Jayana, and Nivaashiyni Krishnan, was released in theatres on Thursday. Despite limited promotions before release, the movie has reportedly gained momentum through positive audience response and strong word-of-mouth appreciation.
As reported by Free Press Journal, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath watched the film along with members of the state cabinet and the movie’s team during the screening organised at Lok Bhavan. Producer Sajan Raj Kurup later shared the development on Instagram, expressing gratitude to the Uttar Pradesh government for supporting a film centred on Indian heritage, culture, and the story of Lord Krishna.
The makers also released a video from the event in which the Chief Minister praised the film after the screening. Reports stated that the government’s decision to make the film tax-free was announced soon after the event.
According to box office figures mentioned by Free Press Journal, the film opened with earnings of Rs 42 lakh on its first day but witnessed significant growth during the weekend.
