Bhooth Bangla Teaser Out: Akshay Kumar And Priyadarshan Reunite After 14 Years For A Comedy-Horror Ride
14 years is a long wait. But if the just-released teaser for Bhooth Bangla is any indication, the Akshay Kumar–Priyadarshan reunion was worth holding out for.
The over-a-minute teaser dropped today, and it wastes no time doing what a Priyadarshan film does best throwing familiar faces into chaotic, laugh-out-loud situations with a ghost lurking somewhere in the background. Akshay leads the chaos with the same old-school energy that made Bhool Bhulaiyaa such a crowd favourite, which feels deliberate. This is very much that universe.
The opening scene belongs to veteran actor Asrani who passed away in October last year introducing a curse called “Vadhusur” in a place called Mangalpuri. After that, it’s a blur of witty one-liners, quick glimpses of Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi, and whatever Vadhusur is doing haunting everyone’s lives.
Sharing the teaser, Akshay wrote: “Laughter, screams, and surprises are waiting inside the Bangla. Dare to enter?”
A few days before the teaser, the makers had already put out a motion poster. Akshay sits shirtless on an intricately carved throne covered in demonic faces, black sunglasses on, Rudraksha beads layered around his neck full tantrik energy. The caption read: “Dus ko denge das-tak, intezar karo tab tak… Let the fun begin!”

the film has been preponed. Bhooth Bangla was originally scheduled for May 15, but will now release on April 10, 2026.
The cast is stacked Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Asrani. The last time Akshay and Priyadarshan worked together was Khatta Meetha in 2010. The film is produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R. Kapoor under Balaji Motion Pictures (a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd.) in association with Cape of Good Films.
