Badshah Summoned By Haryana Women’s Commission Over Objectionable Lyrics In Haryanvi Track ‘Tateeree’

Popular rapper-singer Badshah has received a summons from the Haryana State Commission for Women following complaints about allegedly objectionable lyrics in his newly released Haryanvi song Tateeree. The commission took suo motu cognizance of the matter, with complainants claiming the track contains indecent language that violates cultural sensibilities and modesty. The song was released on March 1, 2026, and has been generating controversy ever since.
The summons, issued on March 6, identifies the singer by his legal name, Aditya Pratik Singh Sisodia, and pertains to allegations of offensive and inappropriate content in the song.
As per the official notice, the Superintendent of Police in Panipat has been directed to ensure that all concerned parties appear at the scheduled hearing. The complaint was filed by Savita Arya, president of the Nari Tu Narayani Utthan Samiti in Panipat, and Shiv Kumar, director of the Shiv Aarti India Foundation. The complainants allege that the lyrics of Tateeree feature inappropriate vocabulary and objectify women and minors.
Following the examination of the complaint, the Haryana State Commission for Women has scheduled a hearing for March 13 at the Conference Hall of the DC Office in Panipat. Commission chairperson Renu Bhatia will preside over the proceedings.
Speaking to ANI, Bhatia raised questions about how the track cleared regulatory scrutiny. She noted that she had previously served as a member of the Film Censor Board for three years, expressing concern over how a song with such lyrics received approval. The commission is expected to review the complaints and hear from all concerned parties during the upcoming proceedings.
