‘Main Abhishek Ki Jagah Khilau?’: Suryakumar Yadav Laughs Off Sanju Samson Selection Talk Ahead Of IND vs SA T20 6Ahmedabad

Suryakumar Yadav made light of questions surrounding Sanju Samson’s potential return to the India playing XI ahead of the T20 clash against South Africa in Ahmedabad, brushing aside the speculation with a laugh during his pre-match press conference.
When reporters pressed the Indian captain on whether the team’s combination needed rethinking given the modest returns from Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Varma Suryakumar responded with a touch of humour rather than any hint of concern.
“Matlab Abhishek ki jagah khilau? (Should I play him instead of Abhishek?),” he quipped, before adding, “Matlab Tilak ki jagah khilau? (You mean in place of Tilak?)”
The skipper also addressed the broader conversation around the team’s scoring expectations, pointing out that the powerplay has been delivering consistently. “It’s going well in power play. We’re making 50-40 runs. That’s normal cricket. Now we’ve played so well in bilateral. It happens — we have expectations, we also have expectations from ourselves. Expectation to make 220, 240, 250. But wickets are a little different here,” Suryakumar said.
