Announcement For Gujarat In Budget 2026 : Ayurvedic Medical Center To Be Established In Jamnagar

Jamnagar : To make India a global bio-pharma hub, a ‘Bio-Pharma Shakti’ scheme will be launched with an outlay of ₹10,000 crore over the next 5 years. Its main objective is to promote research, innovation and vaccine development. In addition, three new National Institutes of Excellence (NIPERs) will be established for education and research. As many as 3 new Ayurveda AIIMS will be set up in the country, out of which a WHO Traditional Medicine Center will be set up in Jamnagar.

Nirmala Sitharaman said, “We will promote the export of quality Ayurvedic products to spread Indian yoga around the world. We will export high quality Ayurvedic products.” Along with this, it was said that in the next five years, one lakh specialist healthcare professionals will be created. 1.5 lakh care givers will be trained.” Three new AIIMS for Ayurveda will be set up. National labs will be set up for testing Ayurvedic medicines.

An allocation of ₹10,000 crore, which will develop India as a global bio-pharma manufacturing hub. Research and Development (R&D): Vaccine development, advanced therapies and clinical research (1000 clinical sites) will be promoted. Three new National Institutes of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPERs) will be opened for pharmaceutical education and skill development.

One of the centers will be set up in Jamnagar. Emphasis has been placed on increasing self-reliance (through PLI schemes) in the medical devices, AI-based technology and pharma sectors. Increased investment in the pharma sector is expected to make medicines for diseases like diabetes and cancer cheaper.
