Gujarat Shivers at 7°C as Naliya Records State’s Lowest Temperature; Dense Fog Blankets North India

Most regions across the country are experiencing severe cold conditions accompanied by dense fog, making morning commutes extremely challenging. Gujarat has not been spared from this weather pattern, with temperatures steadily declining over the past two days. The state’s minimum temperature has plummeted to 7 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department has simultaneously issued another concerning alert. Amid the intense cold wave sweeping through the region, a rainfall warning has been announced for three northern states. Citizens are advised to exercise caution during this period. Additionally, 15 cities are expected to witness an intensification of the cold wave conditions.

Gujarat Gripped by Severe Cold Wave

Gujarat has recorded consistently dropping temperatures for two consecutive days. According to meteorological data, the state’s minimum temperature has touched 7 degrees Celsius, with Naliya emerging as the coldest location. Other notable temperature readings include Keshod at 10.4 degrees and Rajkot at 10.9 degrees Celsius. Detailed temperature data across various cities in the state has been recorded by weather monitoring stations.

Three North Indian States Face Rain-Related Challenges Today

According to the IMD, rainfall is anticipated on January 6 in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu and Kashmir. High-altitude areas are particularly expected to receive heavy precipitation. Rain warnings have been issued for the elevated mountainous regions of Doda, Badgam, and Shopian in Kashmir. In Himachal Pradesh, precipitation is forecast for the upper reaches of Chamba, Rohtang, Kinnaur, and Manali. Some parts of Uttarakhand may experience snowfall. Tamil Nadu has also been placed under a rain alert, with fishermen advised to remain vigilant.

15 Districts in North India to Experience Severe Cold Wave

On Tuesday, January 6, fifteen districts across northern India will face dangerous cold wave conditions. These include Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Amethi, and Agra. The cold wave will further compound difficulties in Delhi, Nainital, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Dehradun in Uttarakhand. Punjab’s Moga, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur will experience cold wave conditions during early morning hours.

Rajasthan Weather Outlook

Rajasthan witnessed moderate to dense fog coverage. Cold wave warnings have been issued for Sikar, Sirohi, Pauri, and Churu. Jaipur’s maximum temperature will hover around 20 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will settle at 8 degrees Celsius.

Madhya Pradesh Weather Forecast

Madhya Pradesh will see a temperature decline on Tuesday. Bhopal’s maximum temperature will reach 21 degrees Celsius, with the minimum dropping to 7 degrees Celsius. Pachmarhi and Naugaon will experience temperatures approaching 2 degrees Celsius. Schools in 19 districts have been declared closed.
