Red Fort Blast Accused Owned 2nd Car, Cops Launch Massive Hunt For EcoSport

New Delhi : Police teams across Delhi, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh have launched a massive manhunt for a red Ford EcoSport believed to have been used in the Red Fort blast, which claimed at least 12 lives and left several others injured on Monday evening. The red Ford EcoSport in question bears the registration number DL10CK0458 and is registered to Umar Un Nabi, also known as Dr Umar Mohammad, who was listed as the second owner of the vehicle.

Investigations have revealed that Umar used a fake address in Northeast Delhi to purchase the vehicle, prompting police to raid that location late at night, sources told India Today. However, the vehicle’s current whereabouts remain unknown. Authorities believe that the suspects used the EcoSport as a secondary vehicle in the operation, following the explosion of a white Hyundai i20, which was found destroyed near the blast site.

In response, all law enforcement units have been instructed to intercept any red Ford EcoSport, with particular attention to the one bearing DL10CK0458. Police on patrol and picket duty have been ordered to remain fully armed and vigilant, ready to act immediately upon spotting the vehicle. The Delhi Police, in coordination with central security agencies, are scanning CCTV footage, toll booth records, and mobile tower data to trace the car’s movements.

Earlier, sources told India Today that Umar planned the attack along with two of his associates. He, however, carried it out alone in panic after his accomplices were arrested in Faridabad earlier on Monday. According to reports, after his expulsion from the hospital in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag due to the death of a patient, he joined the Al-Falah School of Medical Science in Faridabad in 2023.
