Army Kills Two Terrorists in Foiled Infiltration Attempt Along Loc in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara

Operation launched in Keran sector

Two unidentified terrorists were killed after the Indian Army thwarted an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

According to the Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, the operation began on Friday following credible intelligence inputs from multiple agencies about terrorist movement in the Keran sector. Troops deployed in forward areas swiftly responded to the threat.

Quick response foils infiltration attempt

In a post on X, the Chinar Corps said alert soldiers detected suspicious movement close to the border fence. When challenged, the infiltrators opened indiscriminate fire, prompting a retaliatory response from the troops.

“Two terrorists have been neutralised by security forces in the ongoing operation. Search of the area is in progress,” the Army said in its statement shared on X.

Security tightened along LoC

Army officials added that intensified search operations are underway to ensure no other militants managed to cross over. The encounter underscores the continued efforts by security forces to prevent infiltration attempts from across the border ahead of the winter season when snow blocks traditional routes.

This latest operation highlights the Army’s sustained vigilance in the sensitive frontier zones of north Kashmir, where infiltration bids typically rise before heavy snowfall.
