Mumbai : Central Mega Block, to Halt Locals on Three Key Lines

Mumbai: Western Railway and Central Railway will carry out scheduled infrastructure upgrades this Sunday, November 2, forcing widespread cancellations and diversions across the suburban network. The routine weekend mega blocks vital for track repairs, signalling upgrades, and overhead wire maintenance will affect the Central, Harbour, and Western lines, while a separate power block is set for the Central main line on Saturday.
On the Central Line, slow-line services between Vidyavihar and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) will halt from 10:55 am to 3:55 pm. Down trains departing CSMT between 10:48 am and 3:45 pm will switch to the fast corridor, calling additionally at Byculla, Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Sion, and Kurla before reverting to the slow line at Vidyavihar. Up trains leaving Ghatkopar from 10:19 am to 3:52 pm will take the fast route to CSMT, stopping at the same intermediate stations in reverse order.
The Harbour Line faces a five-hour shutdown from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm. All CSMT-bound locals from Panvel, Belapur, and Vashi scheduled between 10:17 am and 3:47 pm will stand cancelled. Central Railway will run limited specials between CSMT and Kurla, as well as CSMT and Panvel/Vashi. Trans-harbour passengers may use Thane–Vashi/Nerul services, which will operate from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Western Railway has announced a jumbo block on Western Line fast tracks between Churchgate and Mumbai Central. Fast locals in both directions will be downgraded to slow lines in this sector for five hours. Several up and down suburban services will be fully cancelled, while select Churchgate-bound trains will terminate or originate at Bandra or Dadar.
No disruptions are planned on the Trans-harbour or Uran corridors.
Commuters are advised to add extra travel time or explore BEST bus and Metro alternatives. Central Railway and Western Railway urge passengers to check station displays and official apps for real-time updates.
