Maharashtra Industrial Mishap: 4 Dead After Gas Leak at Palghar Pharma Unit, Two Critical

At least four workers died and two others are in critical condition following a nitrogen gas leak at a pharmaceutical facility in the Tarapur-Boisar industrial belt of Maharashtra’s Palghar district, officials said, as reported by PTI.
The incident took place in the afternoon at Medley Pharma, situated in Boisar, around 130 km from Mumbai. According to Palghar district disaster management chief Vivekanand Kadam, the leak occurred between 2:30 pm and 3:00 pm in one of the company’s units, exposing on-duty staff to the gas.
Six affected workers were taken to hospital, where four were declared dead around 6:15 pm. The remaining two have been admitted to the ICU at a local hospital and are undergoing treatment, officials added.
