Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann to Visit Dediyapada Amid Political Storm Over AAP MLA’s Arrest

Dediyapada: Political tensions are escalating in Gujarat’s Narmada district as AAP MLA Chaitar Vasava remains in jail following a violent altercation with a BJP leader. In a show of support, Delhi’s former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann are set to visit Dediyapada on July 24. Their visit has sparked a fierce political confrontation between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

BJP MP Mansukh Vasava lashed out at AAP, stating, “Kejriwal should respect the law. If your MLA is involved in violence, you shouldn’t hold rallies to defend him. Those backing such behavior deserve even harsher punishment.”

Chaitar Vasava was arrested on July 5 after a verbal dispute with BJP-backed Taluka Panchayat president Sanjay Vasava allegedly turned violent during a Aapno Taluko Vibrant Taluko (ATVT) meeting. Following the incident, Sanjay Vasava filed a police complaint, leading to Chaitar’s arrest. His supporters also clashed with police during the arrest, intensifying the situation.

Chaitar Vasava’s bail plea has already been rejected by both the lower and sessions courts. AAP has now moved to the Gujarat High Court, but the hearing has been deferred to August 5, keeping Vasava in Vadodara Central Jail until then.

As Kejriwal and Mann prepare for their Dediyapada visit, the political atmosphere remains charged, with the case becoming a flashpoint in the ongoing rivalry between AAP and BJP in Gujarat.
