“I miss Hindi films. I miss India,” Priyanka said in a recent interview, hinting at a strong emotional pull that has drawn her back to the industry where she first rose to stardom. “I’ll be working in India this year, and I’m really looking forward to it.” Priyanka’s last Indian release was the 2020 drama, The Sky Is Pink.

Her return project is none other than ‘SSMB29’, Rajamouli’s next big venture following the global success of RRR. The film is expected to be a large-scale, globe-trotting action adventure with Mahesh Babu in the lead. Inspired by classic adventure tales in the spirit of Indiana Jones, the film has already generated buzz for its ambitious scope. Rajamouli has reportedly scouted locations in Kenya, suggesting that part of the film will unfold across Africa. Originally slated to begin production in mid-2024, the film’s schedule has since shifted due to logistical challenges.

Rajamouli, speaking to international audiences in Japan during a screening of RRR, gave a light-hearted introduction to Mahesh Babu, calling him “very handsome” and promising to bring him abroad for future promotions. “I’m sure you’ll love him as well,” he told fans.

Meanwhile, Chopra’s long-anticipated Bollywood project ‘Jee Le Zaraa’, a road-trip drama directed by Farhan Akhtar and co-starring Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif, remains indefinitely delayed. First announced in 2021, the film has faced multiple setbacks. Earlier this year, Akhtar commented, “The astronomy of it is all messed up,” acknowledging the continued scheduling struggles.
