BTS Set to Return in Spring 2026 with New Album and Global Tour

Seoul – K-pop sensation BTS has announced their much-awaited return, slated for spring 2026, with a new group album and an extensive world tour, according to The Indian Express. The group, which has been on hiatus since 2022 due to mandatory military service and solo projects, shared the news during a Weverse livestream that drew over 7.3 million viewers worldwide.

Band leader RM revealed that the seven members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook will reunite in the United States in July to begin crafting new music. “We’re starting fresh with a group album that reflects everyone’s ideas and creative input, much like our early days,” RM stated during the broadcast. The upcoming album will mark BTS’s first collective release since their 2022 anthology album Proof, which sold nearly 3.5 million copies in South Korea, making it the year’s top-selling album, per the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute.

The group also confirmed plans for a global tour kicking off in spring 2026, their first since the Permission to Dance on Stage tour ended in 2022, which attracted over four million fans. “We’re excited to meet ARMYs worldwide,” the group shared, fueling anticipation among their global fanbase, known as ARMY. While a Korea Herald report speculated a March 2026 return, BTS did not specify a month during the livestream.

Before their hiatus, BTS contributed approximately $4 billion annually to South Korea’s economy, accounting for 0.2% of the nation’s GDP, according to the Korea Culture and Tourism Institute. As the most-streamed group on Spotify and the first K-pop act to top the Billboard 200 and Artist 100 charts, BTS’s return is poised to be a landmark event in global music.
