Mumbai Woman Pilot Allegedly Harassed in Uber Cab, Three Suspects Charged

Mumbai: A 28-year-old woman pilot was reportedly sexually harassed during an Uber cab ride in Mumbai late Thursday night, according to police officials. The incident occurred around 11:15 p.m. as the woman was traveling from south Mumbai to her residence in Ghatkopar.

The woman, whose husband is a Navy officer, had dined at a restaurant in south Mumbai before her husband arranged the Uber ride for her. She informed authorities that her husband resides in a Navy residential complex due to the lack of government accommodation, while she lives in Ghatkopar.

Police have filed charges against the cab driver and two other individuals in connection with the incident. A First Information Report (FIR) was registered under sections 75(1) (sexual harassment), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities still gathering details.
