PM Modi to Review Operation Sindoor Global Outreach Efforts

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to meet with members of the all-party delegations involved in India’s global outreach initiative following Operation Sindoor, a diplomatic response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. The meetings, expected to take place on June 9 or 10 in New Delhi, will focus on the outcomes of the delegations’ international engagements, according to sources cited by Mint.

The seven delegations, comprising 59 lawmakers and former diplomats, visited 33 countries, including members of the European Union, to articulate India’s stance on Pakistan’s role in promoting cross-border terrorism. These groups, led by prominent figures such as Bharatiya Janata Party’s Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda, Congress’ Shashi Tharoor, and others, began their global mission on May 24. The delegation led by Panda, which visited Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Algeria, is set to return to India on June 3.

Before meeting the Prime Minister, the delegations will brief External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar starting June 3, providing updates on their discussions with international policymakers, elected representatives, and other influential figures. The outreach aimed to highlight India’s firm position against terrorism following Operation Sindoor, which was launched in retaliation for the Pahalgam attack that claimed 26 lives, primarily tourists, in Jammu and Kashmir.

In addition to the diplomatic briefings, Prime Minister Modi will chair a Council of Ministers meeting on June 4 at 4:30 PM, the first since the launch of Operation Sindoor. Sources told that this meeting will likely include a detailed discussion on Operation Sindoor and its global implications, as well as plans for public outreach to mark the 11th anniversary of the Modi government.
