COVID-19 Cases Jump to 190, Ahmedabad Reports 131

Gujarat continues to witness a steady increase in coronavirus infections, with the total count now reaching 190 cases. The commercial capital Ahmedabad accounts for the highest number with 131 reported infections.

183 Fresh Cases Recorded in 10-Day Period

According to available information, multiple districts across Gujarat currently have COVID-positive patients. The district-wise breakdown shows Ahmedabad Corporation leading with 131 cases, followed by Rajkot Corporation with 15, Jamnagar Corporation with 10, Mehsana with 6, Gandhinagar Corporation with 5, Bhavnagar Corporation with 4, Kutch with 3, Banaskantha with 2, Kheda with 2, and one case each reported from Anand, Bharuch, Patan, and Valsad.

Majority of Patients Receiving Home-Based Treatment

Gujarat’s COVID-positive count stood at just 7 on May 19. This represents a significant surge of 183 cases within a 10-day timespan. Health authorities are currently conducting investigations to determine which variant is present among the COVID-positive patients. Officially, only one patient has been confirmed to have the new variant so far.

On a positive note, most COVID patients are currently receiving treatment at home. Medical experts maintain that the COVID situation remains under control and there is no cause for alarm.
