Home Guard Jawan Dies Of Heart Attack While On Duty During PM Modi’s Roadshow In Vadodara

Vadodara: A 29-year-old Home Guard jawan, Nitesh Jariya, tragically died of a heart attack while on duty during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow in Vadodara. Jariya, a resident of Lakshmipura village near the city, had been deployed as part of the security arrangements for the high-profile event.

According to officials, Jariya reported for duty at 11 a.m. on Sunday and remained on duty throughout the day, stayed overnight, and resumed duty again on Monday morning. Around noon on Monday, he began experiencing chest pain and collapsed. His colleagues immediately rushed him to Sir Sayajirao General Hospital, but doctors were unable to save him. Preliminary reports attribute his death to a heart attack.

Jariya is survived by his wife, a homemaker, and a one-year-old child. His sudden death has deeply shocked his family and fellow personnel. Following the incident, a large number of Home Guards and police officers gathered at the hospital.

Family members expressed concerns over the handling of the emergency, alleging that had he been taken to a closer hospital instead of being transported across the city to Sayaji Hospital, his life might have been saved. His brother, Nilesh Jariya, said, “Doctors mentioned he had signs of distress. He was in Kishanwadi at the time, but instead of taking him to the nearest hospital, he was taken all the way to Sayaji Hospital. By the time he reached, it was too late.”

Additionally, two women reportedly fainted during the roadshow and were also taken to Sayaji Hospital for treatment. The incident has raised questions about emergency preparedness and the welfare of security personnel during large-scale political events.
