‘You Playing Cards, You’re gambling with WW3’: Trump, Zelenskyy Oval Office Clash

US President Donald Trump released a statement criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a tense discussion between the two in the Oval Office on Friday.

Trump’s Statement:
Trump said, “Today we had a very important meeting at the White House. We learned things that only a serious conversation under pressure can reveal. Emotions played a big role, and I’ve come to the conclusion that President Zelensky isn’t ready for peace with America involved. He seems to think that our participation gives him an unfair upper hand in talks. I’m not looking for an advantage I want peace. He disrespected the United States in our Oval Office. He can return when he is truly ready for peace.”

What Happened in the Oval Office:
At first, the meeting between Zelensky and Trump was friendly. Trump even complimented Zelensky’s outfit. However, the mood changed when Vice President JD Vance challenged Zelensky’s gratitude, going as far as to call him “disrespectful.” In response, Zelensky noted that even if the United States hasn’t felt the full effects of the war in Ukraine due to distance, it could eventually experience the impact. Trump quickly interrupted him with a strong rebuke, saying things like, “Don’t tell us what we’re going to feel. We’re here to solve a problem. Right now, you’re not in a position to decide how we should feel. You’re taking a big risk that could lead to a much larger conflict. Doing business like this is extremely difficult, and you need to be more thankful.”
