Trump Targets Candace Owens As ‘Vile Person Of The Year’ Amid Loomer’s Italy Claims

Washington: US President Donald Trump has intensified his public criticism of conservative commentator Candace Owens, describing her as a “vile person of the year” in a sharply worded social media post, according to a report by Hindustan Times.

The remarks come at a time when far-right activist Laura Loomer has made unverified claims about Owens’ recent absence from public platforms, alleging that she may have travelled to Italy. As reported by Hindustan Times, Loomer suggested on X that Owens flew from North Carolina to Rome, citing an unnamed source, while also pointing to online posts indicating that commentator Nick Fuentes may have been in Italy around the same time.

The controversy has unfolded alongside broader developments involving the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), which was recently indicted by a federal grand jury in Alabama on multiple charges, including bank fraud and money laundering conspiracy. The organisation has denied the allegations, calling them politically motivated, and has said it will contest the case in court, Hindustan Times reported.

Trump’s criticism of Owens extended beyond his initial remark. In a post on Truth Social, he claimed her public standing had declined and criticised her comments about France’s First Lady, calling them “despicable.” He also referred to her as having a “low IQ,” while acknowledging that some of his claims were made “without verification,” according to Hindustan Times

Additionally, Trump shared an altered image styled like a TIME magazine cover portraying Owens with derogatory captions, further escalating tensions between the two figures. The post drew significant attention on social media, highlighting ongoing divisions within conservative circles.
